Budget Server Room
This started with a server rack in a 5’x8′ closet. What is not shown in the picture is that I spent a lot of hours trying to clean it all up, but space continued to be an issue.
As with all serve racks, they sound like jet engines and this one was no different. I tried to soundproof the room and door, but to no avail. So, it remained a continuing issue for all the surrounding offices.
There were also the thermal and moisture issues do to an oversized split A/C system. This along with un-insulated walls, hollow core door, and A/C freezing up I had to find an alternate solution as this was never going to work long term.
The solution presented itself in the form of a 10’x20′ abandoned storage room filled with an accumulation of artifacts from years gone by.
I proposed to the owner to allow me to build a budget friendly server room with storage room. He happily allowed me to begin construction during off hours. The gallery below is the evidence of many long nights and weekends.
